the 6inch telescope lens worked well, should make a acronym for it.

learned how to create a 3 plot for the dazzler run

WE want to use a different scintallator (BaF2), that makes 218nm light then 308nm. need a fiber and bandpass filter. We might use either the spectrometer or the streak camera.

the Modelock is looking good. we ran Austin's 5D simulations. Gil fixed the target flipper SMA port.

some steps to update the sizzler/dazzler

===Pulse width optimization wizzler/ dazzle loop===

- [ ] Place mirror in magnetic mount for wizzler\\
- [ ] Open wizzler and check pulse  reconstruction and spectral intensity/phase\\
- [ ] Check if good(fwhm 25fs or lower, with 12  sigma), if not proceed\\
- [ ] In dazzler computer \\
- [ ] File, reload default , press load button\\
- [ ] Physically adjust the wizzler aperture, filters\\
- [ ] In dazzler, click out of phase both, then click back , than press reload.\\
- [ ] In Wizzler computer, set feedback strength to 0.8 , then press feedback now.\\

Found out that the little hump on the modelock causes a sawtooth pattern on the pulse train, on the oscilloscope. We want a flat line. Gil adjusted the P2, slit, M7, OC to get to as close to 80nm with a flat pattern. We moved to alignment of the dazzler(stretcher), then tweaked the amplifier, then the compressor.

We found our beam on the objective image in the chamber, and did a focal depth run.

found a new default 40nm mode lock, such that you only us the software. Figured out that if this whole relalginment of the laser happens again you will only need to open the box, place the apertures on, and use M7 and OC to get lasing then mode lock. We had made too many adjustments to things that didn't need to be touch.

Best 80nm we got, by move the prism inward then slit, then prism , then slit...

We got a mode lock, the best was 67nm, but ended the day with 40nm. You physical bumped P2 is your finger  to get it started. the best position for P2 is when the light hits the tip of it and then you slowly move it forward, to increase the bandwidth

made slight adjustments to the Lens, M2, and Ti Saph translation.Lens and Ti Sap made larger improvements to the power and litte to the bandwidth. While M2 was the opposite, but it was super sensitive. Your shouldn't need to adjust any of these in the future.

====10/28/2025====

Got the oscillator back. we touched the 2 prisms translations, and just recentered all the beam on each of the apertures.The main thing the helped was the Photodiode after the OC, so that we could see the Voltage. Without the apertures, we coarsely got the 6V and fine walked the OC(mainly) and M7 to get ~12V. The 12V  would changed between 12.1 and 12.38V but that did not directly correlate to the 1mW to 310mW power range seen on the Laser's power meter.

You can block the m7 to stop the amplification. We use a thorlab's DET100A2 photodiode. The TUNING Widget on the software allows you to adjust the the step motors for he Prism2 and slit

  * Spatial Hole Burning(in 240A Lec12):
  * Kerr effect: when the gaussian light sees a nonlinear effect on a medium refractive index. n=n0+I*n1 depending on how instill the beam is. this lead to mode locking and KLM

I have the Mikan Oscillator manual. tried fixing the oscillator, but not dice. tried alignment of M7 and CO mirrors, placed in apertures, adjusted the lens and mirror just before the TiSaph. We checked thing off a list but haven't found the solution.

finished the image tubing

Had issue with the the oscillator. Thing to try tomorrow. Start from step 24 or 28, use a red diode for 
backwards alignment.

the laser power, out of the main shutter was a little low ~22mJ. Gil tried to power it up by changing how to pump enters the  TiSaphh crystal, as shown in the image.

I worked on getting cost estimates for a chiller camera setup up. The pump will be expensive.

We went into a clean room, so that we can get a acturate calibration of our quad filter. We got image, ref, and dark images at 40keV,80keV, and 160keV.

I learned of a FIGI images software the  reads all types of images and you can do math with them.

Lastly, I built the cone for the 6inch imaging setup and spoke with Gil regarding the cover for after the 6in lens

Yesterday we ran into imaging issue with the E-Spec. The possibilities could be Alignment, Triggering, and/or Software Timing. Turns out it was Alignment. The E-Spec has a 3D print part to it, and wasn't in place. Gil found this be using a laser to align it, and no light was coming out.

I moved to getting a better imaging system, so that the Teledyne Cameras(E-Spec) could be outside the chamber. We are using a Diameter=6inch f~300mm lens to capture the light from a Scintillator(that will be 1" from the nozzle) and send it outside the window. I tested with a Plano-Convex 175mm lens(won't work, too long) and an Achromatic 30mm lens(should work). The nozzle is about 55mm away from the window, or 52mm from the Scintillator. This puts the 2nd lens 3.5 inches away from the window

When I got in Gil was trouble some imaging issues. He started with the BNC Digital Delay Trigger, where started by simply turning it Off and back On again. He did notice the EXT Trigger wasn't On, but we don't know if it was like that before(This did not solve the issue).

He went to adjust the HV CH3 knob, but before that he Turned Off both NF/FF Beam Stabs. While adjusting that knob, he looked at the number of peaks on the Teltronix TD's screen.(This did not solve the issue)

We moved to the Main laser. Yesterday, while moving mirrors for the delay stage, we bumped An actuator that controls the last OAP of the main laser. Which I helped fix.

===Focusing Main Laser onto the Objective lens===
  - set the laser to 0.5% emission 
  - close shutters
  - place 2 ND filters in front of the big shutter
  - open shutters
  - open the Pylon Viewer for the Basler Camera
  - move the stage, with the objective lens and Basler Camera down, until you see the laser

the laser should be like the image below, circular and pretty good intensity. Youre looking for a 7um FWHM. If its not like the image, move to  alignment

**ALIGNMENT**
  - Using the 4 THorlabs motor to control the 4 knobs
  - Adjust vertical with vertical. and Horizontal with horizontal 
  - M2 vertical is very sensitive, so get a feel for it with very small steps
  - take a picture of the motor distances, as a reference
